Mission and Philosophy
Our Mission (what we're all about)
To be a (life-changing) relational bridge between Christ and our community…
Our ultimate objective (what we celebrate)
One of the last challenges Jesus gave his followers was the charge to “make disciples” around the globe. A disciple is someone who is “sold out” to living as Jesus would have them live – becoming like Him in their actions, thoughts and motives. This “challenge” continues today and as such it is our ultimate objective. So, we celebrate the most when a person enters into life long relationship with Jesus that leads to long-term life-change by engaging in the “L4” process (see What’s Important for an explanation of L4).
Our philosophy of Ministry ~ simplicity
We’re all busy aren’t we? Work, family, friends, vacations, sports, traffic jams – life. Then up pops the church; “Come to this, be a part of that, show up here and bring a friend there.” Many churches think in terms of multiple programs that need to be available to the various members of the church family. Often these programs, while very well intended, do nothing more than add to the complexity and busyness of life, leaving people conflicted as they try to choose between work, family, church or community. We believe the church was not meant to be a multiplicity of programs (going to church), but one simple yet profound way of living (being the church) while removing the walls between the secular and the sacred. We believe that this was Jesus' example and we’re crazy enough to believe that His example so long ago is just as profound today. Simplicity asks: what is essential or central to the ultimate objective of real life change? That is what we will do… to the best of our ability.
